Hi, I'm Taylor.
I’m a cyanotype artist and photographer based in Nashville, Tennessee. My work explores our relationship with the environments that sustain us.
Growing up in a military family meant I was always starting over. New schools, new friends, new places. Making images gave me something familiar to carry with me. Observing moments helped me feel connected no matter where I was.
After several years working in commercial photography and content creation, I missed creating things for myself. Returning to cyanotypes, a process I first learned in college, I fell in love with how accessible it was compared to other darkroom processes. All I needed was sunlight, a few simple materials, and whatever I could find to create a composition. It reminded me that making art doesn't have to be complicated.
Today, art is how I slow down and reconnect with myself, with nature, and with the world around me. It reminds me to appreciate the beauty that already exists around us.
Invented in 1842, the cyanotype process uses sunlight and iron-based chemistry to create images in beautiful shades of blue.
Using botanicals, found objects, and photographic negatives, I create cyanotypes, also known as sunprints. I'm drawn to objects that remind us of our relationship with the natural world, especially at a time when modern life often creates distance from the environments that sustain us.
